COMPUTER COMPETENCY

Computer competency refers to the ability to acquire computer-related skills. These skills are indispensable tools for today. They include how to efficiently and effectively use popular application packages like Microsoft office suite and the Internet.

To be competent and knowledgeable with ICT, you need to know the five parts of an information system. They are

1.    People: They are the end users who use computers to make themselves more productive.

2.    Procedure: They specify rules or guides for computer operations.

3.    Software:  It provides step-by-step instructions for computer hardware.

4.    Hardware: They are the physical components of the computer which includes keyboard, mouse, monitor and system unit

5.    data: It consists of unprocessed facts including text, numbers, images , and sounds.
